The Market Street Inn, offers four downtown locations in beautifully restored historic homes built by merchants, sea captains and shipwrights in the 18th century. Downtown, we are a three-minute walk from the Waterfront Park, the Firehouse Center, the Custom House, unique shops, galleries, coffee-houses, bistros and many excellent restaurants.

Prices
Summer prices at our downtown locations start at $125 per night for rooms, $185 for one-bedroom apartments and $305 for our two-bedroom suite. We offer weekly and monthly discounts. Prices may vary depending upon season. Group discounts available.

Our cancellation period is seven days for rooms and two weeks for apartments during the winter. When canceling closer to the arrival date we offer a credit. PLEASE NOTE. For apartment rentals during the season (May through October) the cancellation period is 45 days; for rooms the cancellation period is 14 nights. We urge guests to book early for seasonal rentals. The North Shore is an extremely busy place from May through October, and the November and December holidays. Regrettably, we cannot insure against bad weather or travel conditions. We do not refund for cancellations due to weather or weather related emergencies. We do advise our guests to consider trip insurance.
Nature of Historic Buildings
All of our buildings are classified in Newburyport's Architectural Survey as "antique structures." By their very nature, the beautiful wide pine floors may tilt a bit here and there, and the walls are not exactly plum! This is part of the charm of homes that date back in some cases to pre-Revolutionary War America. And, although all of our properties have been freshly painted several times since we acquired them, we cannot certify that in such buildings the under-layers of paint are 100% lead free.
Credit Cards & Payment
We take reservations only by credit card. We charge 50% of a reservation at the time of booking for stays of one month or less. The deposit for longer stays is one-half of the first month. The balance will be charged the day of arrival. Other payment arrangements must be made with the innkeeper.
