We have stayed in too many big box hotels and extended stay properties. While predictable, the atmosphere is not like mom's house! We really strive to make you feel like you have just come home. We are informal and casual. We don't build add-ons into our price. Instead, we offer our guests options.

Tim was a professor at Boston University for 25 years before retiring and expanding the inn. Victoria ran her own software training business. We now spend the bulk of the year in Key West where we own the Rose Tree House, a charming home in Old Town with a vacation apartment. But, in the summer and fall you will find us right here in Newburyport!  We love the experience of meeting new people and helping them enjoy their visits to Newburyport.

Our Business

The Market Street Inn has grown over the years from a two-room B&B to a complex of downtown properties that cater to vacationers and those seeking temporary housing. We are open year around.

As our go-to person, Jeff provides reservaton and management services: he handles reservations, guest check-ins, all payment transactions, maintenance scheduling, housekeeping and laundry services. When you call us, you are more than likely calling Jeff.
